Fonterra and Conservation Volunteers Team Commence Planting at CUE Haven
Media
From July 4th-8th the Fonterra Catchment Care Team and a group of Conservation Volunteers teamed up to commence native tree planting at Cue Haven, a 59 acre farm which was purchased by Thomas and Mahrukh Stazyk in 2003. This site overlooks the beautiful Kaipara Harbour and includes an established native forest and wetlands. In an effort to build up the native forest a comprehensive Restoration Plan was produced outlining a plan to complete an extensive amount of native tree planting by 2017. To recognise this, the team made a huge contribution and planted more than 4,100 native trees over the course of the week. In addition Kevin, Steve, Jamie and Paul from Fonterra’s Maungaturoto site in Northland came along too to give a helping hand to the project.
