The CUE Haven catchment spans across seven acres of land and contains a diverse mix of primarily broadleaf species and a number of podocarps. It contains an advanced and diverse forest including native trees Karaka, Nikau, Rawarewa, Puriri, Kahikatea, Pukeatea and Taraire. It is also the headwater gully area and a water source for the Kaipara Harbour. Catchment Care work has included weeding 800 square meters of land in preparation for 10,190 native trees to be planted. Additionally 645 meters of walking tracks were constructed, 15 meters of tracks were maintained and 332 meters of land was fenced off to help keep pests out of the catchment and away from the young native trees and wildlife. 140 volunteer days were carried out on this site.
